Medical Skin and Laser - Terms of Service

These Terms of Service apply to all clients booking appointments, receiving services, or purchasing items through Medical Skin and Laser’s e-commerce store. By using our services or purchasing products, you agree to the following terms, which comply with Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

1. Appointment Confirmation
  • Clients may confirm appointments by calling or emailing.

  • We send appointment confirmations via email, SMS, or phone call 24-72 hours prior. Clients should respond "Yes" or "No" to confirm or cancel.

 

2. Reservation Fees
  • Credit card details or a reservation fee are required to secure appointments. Card charges apply only if there’s a late cancellation or no-show.

  • Certain treatments require a reservation fee, which will be used as credit for the appointment but is forfeited if canceled late or unattended.

 

3. Cancellation & No-Show Policy
  • A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellations, via email or phone.

  • Late cancellations or no-shows will incur an $80 fee, which will be charged to the card on file.

 

4. Liability Waiver
  • Medical Skin and Laser aims to provide quality treatments; however, all treatments carry inherent risks, and individual results may vary. Clients acknowledge that they are aware of these risks and agree not to hold Medical Skin and Laser liable for any adverse outcomes, except where the law prohibits such exclusions.

  • Note: This waiver does not exclude or limit any rights you have under Australian Consumer Law, which provides guarantees that cannot be excluded.

 

5. Consultation and Suitability Disclaimer
  • All treatments are subject to an initial consultation to determine suitability. Medical Skin and Laser reserves the right to refuse treatment if it is deemed unsuitable for the client’s health or safety. Suitability for any treatment will be determined by a qualified practitioner.

 

6. Privacy and Data Security
  • Medical Skin and Laser is committed to protecting client privacy. All personal and medical information is handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for more details.

 

7. Package Expiry and Transferability
  • Treatment packages must be redeemed within 12 months from the date of purchase unless otherwise specified. Packages are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed by anyone other than the original purchaser.

  • Note: Under Australian Consumer Law, gift cards must have a minimum expiry period of three years. This does not apply to treatment packages, which are treated differently.

 

8. Repeated Cancellations or No-Shows
  • Medical Skin and Laser may impose additional fees or restrict future bookings if a client has a history of repeated cancellations or no-shows. A non-refundable deposit may be required for any future bookings after multiple missed appointments.

 

9. Treatment Results and Expectations
  • While we strive to achieve the best possible outcomes, Medical Skin and Laser cannot guarantee specific results. Clients acknowledge that individual results may vary, and follow-up treatments may be recommended to achieve optimal results.

  • Note: Medical Skin and Laser adheres to Australian Consumer Law, which prohibits false or misleading representations about treatments. Practitioners will provide realistic information on outcomes during your consultation.

 

10. Complaints and Dispute Resolution
  • We are committed to providing high-quality service and encourage clients to reach out if they have concerns. In the event of an unresolved dispute, Medical Skin and Laser will seek to resolve matters through a mediation process before pursuing further legal action.

 

11. Right to Refuse Service
  • Medical Skin and Laser reserves the right to refuse service to any client if it is deemed that the treatment may pose a risk to their health or well-being or if a client is disruptive or violates these Terms of Service. This decision will comply with all applicable anti-discrimination laws.

 

12. Refund Policy
  • Medical Skin and Laser has a ‘no refund’ policy on goods or services for change of mind. Treatments and packages are non-transferable.

  • Refunds for retail items are available if the items are unused and in original packaging. Reservation fees are typically non-refundable but may remain as credit on file.

  • Note: Under Australian Consumer Law, clients are entitled to repair, replacement, or refund for faulty products or services not delivered as promised.

 

13. Payment
  • Payment is due on the day of service. Some treatments may require pre-payment.

 

14. Specials, Discounts, and Pricing
  • Specials and discounts are standalone offers and cannot be combined. All terms are subject to change without notice.

  • Prices are subject to change and are provided as guides only. Clients will receive more indicative quotes after consultation.

  • Due to AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) and Therapeutic Goods of Australian Marketing guidelines in reference to S4 Medications, all medical/ aesthetic clinics are disabled from placing media and written promotions in relation to these medications. To find out what might be on offer, please contact the clinic directly, and have a discussion with one of our trained staff.

 

15. Minors (under 18years old) and Children
  • Due to safety, children and pets are not permitted in clinic rooms. We offer treatment for clients under 18 years old only for specific conditions (e.g., acne, scarring, skin cancer check, eczema, medical conditions) with parental consent. We do not conduct cosmetic treatments on minors.

 

16. E-Commerce Terms
  • Returns: No refunds for change of mind on e-commerce purchases. Faulty products will be replaced or refunded according to Australian Consumer Law.

  • Shipping: Orders ship within three business days via Australia Post. Medical Skin and Laser is not responsible for shipping delays.

 

17. Governing Law
  • These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Australia, specifically aligning with the protections and guarantees under Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
